The Text  True West

In True West  two apparently quite different brothers meet in their mother' s house in a Southern California suburb, while she is on vacation in Alaska. Austin has temporarily left his family in Northern California to water his mother' s plants and to write on a screenplay.
His older brother Lee, a petty thief and drifter, has just arrived from the desert and plans to break into some houses in the neighborhood.
Their roles strangely change when Saul Kimmer, a Hollywood producer, enters the stage: Coming to talk about Austins new script, Saul Kimmer gets to know Lee, who suddenly bursts in with a stolen television set. During a round of golf Lee persuades Saul to produce a screenplay of his own
about "two lamebrains chasing each other across Texas".
Soon Austin, getting drunk, talks about living in the desert, while Lee tries to write his screenplay. The situation escalates when Austin follows Lee' s footsteps and steals all toasters in the neighborhood,
plus toast, and Lee smashes the tyewriter with his golfclub. You will not be surprised that no plant will survive...
